Verivo is looking to add the concept of re-use to enterprise mobile app development. The company just rolled out an update to its Akula enterprise development platform that adds new capabilities and an updated management console.

App Developer Magazine reports Verivo’s Akula 2.0 offers new Client Actions, which lets developers add built-in client actions, such as forced logout, data wipe and refresh app permissions, to any mobile app, as well as push notifications across both iOS and Android devices. The company also updated its management console to replicate all the functions of the Akula management REST APIs and allow full management of Akula mobile apps at runtime. The new version is also now certified for Android 4.4 (KitKat).

Yankee Group Principal Analyst Chris Marsh comments

“With Akula, Verivo has taken an interesting approach to the mobile application platform space, bringing to market last year an enterprise-grade infrastructural solution to act as a foundation on which businesses can build their mobile applications. Much of what it is trying to do reflected in its 2.0 release this month is build in greater automation into the workflows surrounding the mobile application life cycle and in the core features that may need to be built into an application so that companies can focus on innovation and scaling their mobile projects.”
